Go Against the Flow and Grow

Russian Artists on Etsy is a group of talented artists that is very vibrant and diverse. Among their works, you can find something for any taste. But today I’d like to share some works that truly stand out for their uniqueness and unprecedented wow factor, those that will surely turn heads.

Imagine all the moments when you were asked: "What are you wearing?" Most often than not, you were asked about something unusual, extraordinary. Let's face it – uniqueness attracts the eye, it challenges our taste and imagination. If you choose to wear a piece that clashes with what we consider a classic, it will carry a piece of you in it, your style, your dareness, it will speak volumes about your personality. Why? Because You chose to wear it. Most often than not, it would be a conversation piece, so if you aren’t eager to open yourself to a complete stranger and make acquaintances, stick to a classic string of pearls or stay home.

That "step further" in a design world is called avant garde. Avant-garde in the artistic sense of word means experimental, innovative, pushing boundaries. Because avant garde can be over the top, you don’t really need to embellish yourself head to toe in it. You can take just one piece and it will give any classic outfit a fresh spin.

Wonderful things Wednesday - Serenity

Early in the morning I like to come out on my deck with a cup of coffee and take a moment just looking at the trees in my backyard. The sun is not quite out yet, everything is quiet and milky fog is floating in the air.

It is nice to carry this feeling of piece and serenity into the hectic day routine. Use a soft shawl, a pair of white felted gloves, or your favorite brooch as a magic object that will transport you to a quiet sanctuary even if only for a brief moment.

Wonderful things Wednesday - Happy Halloween!

Are you ready for Halloween? Have you thought about your costume and house decorations? Got candy?

There is still time!

This is that time of the year when pumpkins are everywhere and we just have to get that pumpkin spice coffee in a morning. We are getting in a fall spirit and admiring bright colors. Orange, black and purple are rules!

Close to the end of Month you will see witches, monsters and fairy princesses walking down the streets everywhere. Parties, you know.

When October 31st comes, be prepared. This is a time of celebration and superstition. Put your carved pumpkin out, prepare your sweet treats, light a candle and get ready for the frightful (or not :)) night!

Wonderful things Wednesday - Crochet with heart

Crochet is one of the most popular needlework arts around the world today and has been practiced in Europe since early 1800s. Men & women, youth & adults all are creating beautiful pieces. Many of them came to the hooks at the very young age and learned how to crochet from their mothers. Others fall in love with crocheting in their older years finding this hobby very relaxing and stress relieving.

Many things can be made in crochet, some examples are anything from beautiful lace doilies to the sophisticated scarves and jewelry. You can find some lovely crochet pieces in almost any home today. Some of the pieces you might find in any house might be baby blankets and afghans. These are becoming heirloom pieces that are being passed on by family members for generations. What can be better then a crochet baby blanket and a pair of baby booties as a gift for an expecting mother!

Some of our team members are also dedicated to crochet. Crocheting is part of our lives and heritage. This is something we enjoy and will do for the rest of our lives!

Wonderful things Wednesday - Expensive things we want

We all are making our wish list with the holidays rapidly approaching. What’s in there? What are you going to get for yourselves? for others?

While doing that, didn’t you ask yourself why people buy an expensive item over an inexpensive one?

Everyone has their own reasons. We are going to name just some of them:

1. The expensive item is probably excellent quality and that’s why it will last longer than a cheaper product.

2. It might be a one of a kind item. You will never see someone else at the party wearing that lovely little black dress, just like yours. Guaranteed.

3. The item might be a hand made that required a lot of work thus making it expensive.

4. Sometimes the materials are rare or expensive, which makes the item expensive.

5. Many times it may be an impulse buy because of love at first sight. Sometimes you can just glance at item and you know you just have to get this one! In the moments like these we hope the money is not a factor for you!

Here is our collection of expensive items – enjoy!

Wonderful things Wednesday - We ♥ beach

There is nothing like a day at the beach to calm your mind!

Long sunny days full of clear blue waters and sun-washed warm sand. Gathering seashells or building a sand castle as a main task of a day. The breeze gently blowing through your hair and sun kissing your skin. Close your eyes for a second and listen, there is only the sounds of waves crashing onto the rocks!
Don’t you feel better already?
We love our days at the beach and we will carry our summer memories through the years. For those times when we are not at the beach we create some lovely reminders of summer vacations!
