Some tips to escape depression in creativity

We used to think that our everyday job is something we do unwillingly waiting for the end of working day. I have good news – there exist lucky individuals who are interested in what they are busy with and moreover everyday full time job inspire to create fantastic items and sell them on Etsy.

Arctida’s interest in natural science (she is a Cancer researcher) is one of main inspiration sources for her art.

berezki’s love for combination of the industrial, geometric and organic, as she told me, was the influence of her background in architecture.

Being a musician rumosaic07 conceives by images. “I take the key of F major like royal blue and D flat minor like dark brown. Create my artworks I hear the harmonic equivalent of them– inlaying mosaic or crocheting I am in the music sphere”.

allmadewithlove often visits antique markets, where one can find timeless beautiful things, they inspire her for making the vintage style creations with a new look.

“Fashion is my passion and my profession –allmadewithlove explained me - Everything retro and antique, such as books, historical movies, fashion magazines, are my inspirations”.
Oh! Don’t miss here another tip how to get inspiration – look through masterpieces of talented brilliant artists!

yelenalamm always finds a great source of energy in connections with other artists - whether communicating on personal level, visiting an art gallery or a museum, browsing through online portfolios including many amazing talents on Etsy, or in her favorite art books.

marina826 is also inspired by artist of different times, nations, schools that she enjoys in museums, art galleries, books and in the I-net and take a positive supply of creativeness.

I should agree with CityCrochet’s words - All these beautiful things created by artisans of Etsy inspires to create something by yourself!

Two years ago Lulya found a website Etsy, and a Jewelry section. “I saw a lot of the most beautiful jewelry in different stores and just lit up the idea of learning to do the jewelry by myself . And I continue to learn to this day”.

Another great idea told me WineCountryLife: “ I'm inspired by my customers - people who choose handmade over mass produced, value personal warmth and individual attention, and appreciate the love and energy that I put in my products. They give me motivation, provide feedback, and generate new ideas. When I create, I think of a person who’ll wear my jewelry or I imagine a person who’ll receive the card I'm making.

And MamaTita’s inspiration was from the clients. The customer ordered her butterflies for the wedding and she decided to start to make decors and stationary for weddings

But sometimes we have no need to seek for inspiration because it’s inside us – It’s called FEELINGS! alvant wouldn’t sound strange saying “I can create only when I feel abundance of love and happiness...”

“My inspirations are not only my dreams, but my future, love, breath, tears, feelings, hopes...But my main inspiration is love.” – shared with me serdomania –

“When you look at my drawings, you can not see the faces. Because I am searching for the real love in my drawings.”

So, if you feel lack of creativity may be you should change your work, or communicate with creative people (from Russian Artists team, for example) and the most helpful remedy – TO FALL IN LOVE!))

Stay open hearted!

Our Greatest Inspirers

Rambling through Etsy I discovered that the most of creators and artists here are women. May be that’s the reason why the most frequent answer about inspiration I got was “my family inspires me”.

I think it’s really a wonderful that our inspiration is so close to us! The dearest and beloved people bring us a huge variety of emotions, interesting ideas, unknown facts.

Family inspires beautiful crocheting things by eve collection. She said “I would like to crochet something funny for my little grandson and something beautiful for daughter-in-law who loves my handmade though criticizes sometimes”.

Yes, our close people are our best inspires and critics also. Two daughters are Katya5’s inspiration for embroidery. She often asks their opinion before starting a project, and always shows them the "finished" product to hear their opinion.

Our beloved people sometimes even give a name to our shop. That story is about VeraidaGifts: “I named my shop after my grandmothers Vera and Ida. "My inspiration is my grandmothers, who were different but each of them gave me different gifts to carry throughout my life. Vera is my maternal grandmother, she taught me different crafts, appreciation of everyday beautiful small things, she always said: "You have to know how to do everything in life, but it does not mean you will do it". Ida is my paternal grandmother, she taught me business and the ability to create something even if I do not have enough supplies, she always said: Be kind and patient in every aspect of your life”. Isn’t it an inspiring wisdom?

I really like that brief but splendid answers about inspiration. honeypunk1: I am inspired by my handsome husband and rock’n’roll

or Shadowpuppets’ words: “My inspiration is my family – children and my husband, literature and shadow puppet theater of all over the world”. It can be seen in every wonderful item they made.

It’s amazing that our little children make us develop and improve our business and skills. LaFiabaRussa wrote me that she wanted to have harmless toys for her baby boy. She was moved by the wish to be sure about the quality of materials and techniques for them to correspond to the baby age who intended to taste everything on teeth. And her elder daughter being a creative person demands aesthetic quality of toys and gives an useful advice. Reading this I become sure about these cute dolls. And you?

As for me, I opened my shop some months ago with nice bright tees with owls, ABC and numbers adapted for little ones. And the sweetest award is that my son was happy to have one of them!

Our family is so inspiring – it’s easy to create when you feel their love and help. What do you think, do they deserve an extraordinary apple pie? :)

Stay inspired!

How to get inspiration. Inspired Russian Hearts interview

Sitting in the armchair with my legs in cozy stripped socks I was drinking mint tea with honey.

It was the time I came to conclusion that there is nothing more sweet that being inspired. Just the word “Inspiration” awakened in my head the image of my cheerful baby boy who tries to show his independency to do all things by yourself, my lovely husband doing the same way, adorable CafĂ© del Mar music, watching cherry trees bloom – that’s just a beginning….

Rambling through Etsy I came across hundreds of unique amazing and adorable items. What inspired the artists to create them? Let’s make a little research.

NeroliHandmade: “ My inspiration mostly comes from nature and everyday objects. It can be a flower, an unusual leaf, or an intricate shadow on the wall.”

IrinaPhotography: “ My inspiration is our Mother Earth. There are so many breathtaking places around!”

PeonyForest says that her items are inspired by nature: the limitless beauty of the color nuances present in nature and the simplicity of the physical principles which rule the natural world.

“Walking in the park I see the flower and imagine the scarf or another garment of that color and begin to mix colors and paint the yarn for crocheting. Often I make it by myself.” – shares with us lanadearg – “ When the weather is bad and sky is grey it’s interesting to watch the shadows of grey on the sky and I try to reproduce that colors in the color of thread. Everything around is very interesting. Even the wet asphalt inspires!”

Yes, the main inspiration power is Mother Nature with its beauty and variety.
Sometimes you need to change your place, to feel new surrounding to catch new stunning ideas. NinasBeadFun likes to travel and with each new destination I find more inspiration. I get inspired by beautiful places, historical architecture, new people.
I like to observe everything around me, everything to the little detail, colour hue, finish, and texture.

HansHolzkopf tells me that she is inspired by the colors of nature, by the flowers in my garden, by children, simply by people, by travel in the other countries.

Alvant gets inspired by stunning natural surroundings of New England, by the colors of the nature and its natural lines, but her main source of inspiration is purely spiritual... “It is hard to explain how it works at the end, but I weave the feeling of LOVE, SUCCESS and CREATIVITY into every knot that I make... Those items become stylish living amulets and healing objects... How impressive traveling can be!”

The beginning of summer is right time to look around with open eyes and notice breathtaking colors to realize them in your own creations. Next time I will tell you about other ways to burn your creativity.

During my little research I’ve got about 70 kind and inspiring answers! My warm thank to everyone who wrote me back and share their concealed thoughts with me.
Stay inspired!

Sincerely yours,
Lily (heartygift.etsy.com)
